The following pear species are prohibited to be exported to Canada:
Pyrus pyrifolia - Asian pear, Sand pear, Twentieth century pear, Chinese pear, Japanese pear, Nashi pear, Oriental pear, Korean pear, Golden pear and Shingo pear
Pyrus sp. nr. communis - Fragrant pear
Pyrus bretschneideri - Ya pear
Consignments are to be free from soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
For all fruit varieties Canada has classified the following mite species (Tetranychus kanzawai, Tetranychus truncatus, Tetranychus viennensis) as being quarantinable.
The mite Tetranychus kanzawai is present in Australia and any product found to be infested (or suspected of being infested) with Tetranychus kanzawai must not be certified for export to Canada. Consignments in which suspect mites are found must be put on hold until the mites have been positively identified by an entomologist.

Explanation of endorsements:
EXDOC Endorsement No 2822 applies to all pear species (excluding P. communis, P. pyrilfolia, P. sp nr communis and P. bretschneideri).
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and to present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
EXDOC Endorsement No 1245 applies to P. communis.
