Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


The consignment must be packed in such a manner to prevent infestation or spread of pests or biologicals.

Seed for propagation must meet Canadian Seeds Acts and Seed Regulations.


Explanation of the endorsement

Endorsement 638:
  • Only applies if the import permit specifies freedom from Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa). Otherwise a phytosanitary certificate without an additional declaration will be issued.

1) Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa) is known not to occur in Australia.
