Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Fruit must be treated by methyl bromide fumigation and followed by cold treatment.

The consignment is subject to inspection by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency upon arrival.
The fruit must be treated by methyl bromide fumigation by one of the following schedules followed by cold treatment and must be specified in the treatment section of the phytosanitary certificate. 

  • 16 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 21 degrees Celsius at normal atmospheric pressure. Following fumigation, the fruit has been held in cold storage for 21 days at 0 degrees Celsius.

OR

  • 24 grm/m3 for 2 hours at a temperature of 16 degrees Celsius at normal atmospheric pressure. Following fumigation, the fruit has been held in cold storage for 21 days at 0 degrees Celsius.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
