Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

It is the exporter’s responsibility to ensure the consignment is exported within 14 days of inspection and the phytosanitary certificate is issued within 14 days of the consignment being exported from Australia.

Refer to the departure date and inspection date in the Request for Permit.


Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.


The tubers must be thoroughly washed and be free from visible soil.

Note: Any wooden material used as part of the shipment must be treated as specified on the import permit and details of the treatment inlcuded on the phytosanitary certificate. A treatment certficate must also accompany the consignment. 

Pests of concern to Brunei

Exporters are required to present one of the following to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. 

 An official soil test certificate issued by the relevant state or territory government attesting to Potato cyst nematode (PCN) (Globodera rostochiensis) freedom.

OR

An area freedom certificate issued by the relevant state or territory government attesting to Potato cyst nematode (PCN) (Globodera rostochiensis) freedom.

Note: Potato cyst nematode (PCN) is the synonym of Golden cyst nematode.
