Exporters to ensure that consignments are free of viable seeds.
The ICRs are applicable to:
- Paddy husk – Oryza sativa
- Lucerne Hay/Chaff – Medicago sativa
- Wheaten hay/straw/chaff – Triticum spp
- Timothy Hay - Phleum pratense
- Corn silage – Zea mays
- Soyabean Hay or Silage– Glycine max
Consignments are to be fumigated with:
- Methyl bromide at 32 grm/m3 for 24 hours at 21 degrees Celsius;
OR
- Phosphine at 2 grm/m3 for 96 hours at or above 21 degrees Celsius.
- The Exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Fumigation treatment certificate issued by a licensed fumigator must be accompanied with the consignment (when specified on the import permit).
Note:
- Fumigation must be undertaken no more that 21 days before export.
