Exporter to provide evidence attesting to the consignment being produced in an area free of Guava rust (Puccinia psidii) and Coniella australiensis and to present to the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Authorised Officer at time of making appointment.
Details of freedom ARE NOT to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary certificate.
Each package must be labeled with scientific name of the plants and the country of origin.
- Plants are to be fumigated with Methyl bromide at 32 grm per cubic metre for 2 hours;
OR
- Sprayed with 0.04% Azoxystrobin or any suitable fungicide;
OR
- Other approved treatments may also be acceptable, to address the risk of nemtodes and diseases.
For plants with growing media, the soil-less organic media should be treated with:
- Fumigation using Phosphine gas at 2 grm per cubic metre for 72 hours.
OR
- Methyl bromide at 32 grm per cubic metre for 4 hours at NAP and NRT prior shipment
OR
- Other approved treatments may also be acceptable, to address the risk of nemtodes.
Any wood packing material used must be treated with:
- Fumigation using Methyl bromide at 48 grm per cubic metre for 24 hours.
OR
- Heat treatment at 56°C for a minimum duration of 30 continuous minutes.
OR
- Other approved treatment in accordance with ISPM No.15 may be acceptable.
