Exporters must confirm with the BrazilianMinistry of Agriculture, Livestock & Food Supply (MAPA) if an importpermit is required for the consignment.

If an import permit is required, anoriginal and official translation of the import permit must be presented to theAuthorised Officer at the time of making an appointment for inspection.

A phytosanitary certificate is stillrequired if an import permit is not issued.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 3497:
  • A crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus) and Broomrape (Orobanche spp).

Endorsement 8004:

  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus) and Broomrape (Orobanche spp).
  • If required the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" can be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@aff.gov.au).
Endorsement 7331:
  • A crop inspection report is required to endorse freedom from Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus).
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Broomrape (Orobanche spp).
  • If required the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" can be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP). There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@aff.gov.au).
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3497)
1) The crop was inspected at active growth and found to be free of Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus) and Broomrape (Orobanche spp).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 8004)
1) The shipment was found free through laboratory testing of Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus) and Broomrape (Orobanche spp).

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 7331)
1) The crop was inspected at active growth and found to be free of Bacterial wilt of alfalfa (Clavibacter michiganensis subsp. insidiosus),
2) The shipment was found free of Broomrape (Orobanche spp) through laboratory testing.
Import permits dated 19 November 2015 and 7 August 2019, and NPPO regulations confirmed on 21 November 2019. ORDINANCE SDA/MAPA NO. 1,031, OF MARCH 15, 2024.
