Exporters must confirm with the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Food Supply (MAPA) if an import permit is required for the consignment.
A phytosanitary certificate is still required if an import permit is not issued.
Explanation of the endorsements
Endorsement 1982:
Endorsement 1982:
A crop inspection report must be provided as evidence of freedom from Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp).
Endorsement 2096:
An area freedom certificate issued by the respective state department must be provided as evidence of freedom from Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp).
Endorsement 2107:
A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence of freedom from Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp). The laboratory analysis certificate number must be entered in the 'Lot Number' section of the EXDOC Request for Permit as: LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER <NUMBER>.
An additional declaration is only to be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate if the import permit specifically states this requirement.
If required by the import permit:
Consignments are to be chemically delinted prior to export.
Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 1982)
1) The seed in this consignment has been chemically delinted prior to export.2) Crop was inspected during active growth and found to be free of Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp).
Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 2096)
1) The seed in this consignment has been chemically delinted prior to export.
2) The area of production is free of Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp).
Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 2107)
1) The seed in this consignment has been chemically delinted prior to export.
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Broomrape (Orobanche spp) and Witchweed (Striga spp).
