A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Bangladesh import permits may be issued with varying additional declaration and treatment requirements. Exporters must refer to the import permit to verify requirements for their consignment.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Explanation of the endorsements
- Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient to endorse freedom from soil (as per normal tolerances).
Import of food products into Bangladesh requires a Radioactivity Statement (GX46B) from the competent authority of the exporting country (Article 16 of the Import Policy Order 2012-2015, Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh). When requested by the exporter, a Radiation Statement may be issued.
