Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsements 7989 and 7992:

The Following pests are not known to occur in Australia. Freedom from these pests may be endorsed without citing any evidence:
  • Giant ragweed (Ambrosia trifida)
  • Horse nettle (Solanum сarolinense)
  • Pitted morning (Ipomoea lacunosa)
  • Black rot (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. allii)
  • Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium)
  • Broad-nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus)
  • Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus)
Freedom from the following pests may be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate based on visual inspection by the Authorised Officer:
  • Western ragweed (Ambrosia psilostachya)
  • Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia)
  • Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens) 
  • Small nightshade (Solanum triflorum) 
  • Silver leafshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium)
  • Hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa) 
  • Prickly nightshade (Solanum rostratum)
  • Spiny burr grass (Cenchrus longispinus) 
  • Common sandbur (Cenchrus spinifex)
  • Weevils (Callosobruchus spp)
Endorsement 7989:

A laboratory analysis certificate is required for endorsing freedom from Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Endorsement 7992:
A crop inspection report is required for endorsing freedom from Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7989)
1) Potato ring rot Giant ragweed (Ambrosia trifida), Horse nettle (Solanum сarolinense), Pitted morning (Ipomoea lacunosa), Black rot (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. allii), Khapra beetle (Trogoderma granarium), Broad-nosed grain weevil (Caulophilus latinasus) and Brazil bean weevil (Zabrotes subfasciatus) are not known to occur in Australia,

2) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Western ragweed (Ambrosia psilostachya), Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens), Small nightshade (Solanum triflorum), Silver leafshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), Hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa), Prickly nightshade (Solanum rostratum), Spiny burr grass (Cenchrus longispinus), Common sandbur (Cenchrus spinifex), Weevils (Callosobruchus spp)
3) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7992)

2) The consignment was found free through official testing and inspection procedure of Western ragweed (Ambrosia psilostachya), Common ragweed (Ambrosia artemisiifolia), Russian knapweed (Acroptilon repens), Small nightshade (Solanum triflorum), Silver leafshade (Solanum elaeagnifolium), Hairy beggarticks (Bidens pilosa), Prickly nightshade (Solanum rostratum), Spiny burr grass (Cenchrus longispinus), Common sandbur (Cenchrus spinifex), Weevils (Callosobruchus spp)
3) The crop was inspected at active growth and found to be free of Stem and bulb nematode (Ditylenchus dipsaci).
