Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.


Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.


Exportersmust meet Australian requirements for the export of Cannabissativa seed by being issued an export licence and permit by the Narcotics
Control Section (ncs@health.gov.au). Thesedocuments must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time ofinspection.

For seeds grown and/or inspected in an area in Queensland other than the Mackay Region, if required the place of production details may be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP) as: THE SEED WAS GROWN IN <PLACE OF PRODUCTION>, <STATE>. There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP, the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant Program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@aff.gov.au).

Explanation of endorsements:

Endorsement 7621:
  • A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence of freedom from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua), Common broomrape (Orobanche minor) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa).

Endorsement 7622:

  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella). The laboratory analysis certificate number must be endorsed in the additional product description field as per instructions above.
  • A crop inspection report must be presented as evidence of freedom from Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua), Common broomrape (Orobanche minor) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa).
Red witchweed (Striga asiatica) is recognised as not occurring in any Australian states and territories except the Mackay Region of Queensland. Consignments of seed of Australian origin can be endorsed free from Striga asiatica without any evidence presented except for seed sourced from the Mackay Region. Seed sourced from the Mackay Region cannot be exported to Argentina.
Option1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7621)
1) The consignment was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella),

2) The consignment was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free from Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua), Common broomrape (Orobanche minor) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa),
3) The consignment has been sourced from an area recognised by SENASA as free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica). Australia is free of Striga asiatica except for the Mackay region in Queensland.

Option2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7622)
1) The consignment was found to be free from Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella) according to the result of the official laboratory analysis indicated in the additional product description of this phytosanitary certificate,
2) The consignment was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free from Nodding broomrape (Orobanche cernua), Common broomrape (Orobanche minor) and Branched broomrape (Orobanche ramosa),
3) The consignment has been sourced from an area recognised by SENASA as free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica). Australia is free of Striga asiatica except for the Mackay region in Queensland.
