1.1. Prohibited

The Department is unaware of any prohibited edible non-prescribed goods for export to Qatar.

1.2. Conditions

Qatar is a member of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which has published a Guide for control on imported foods (PDF 1.7 MB). This guide sets requirements for all edible products imported into Qatar.

The Department is not aware of any prohibited products related to processed foods.

3.1 Government certification

For export of processed foods to Qatar, the Health Certificate for Assorted Foods AFQT1 (NEXDOC) with endorsement 9018 is required.

The food products are safe and fit for human consumption. The food product(s) was handled at an establishment that has been subjected to inspections by the competent authority and/or officially recognised body and implements a food safety management system based on HACCP principles or an equivalent system.

3.2 Supporting documents and exporter declarations

The Department is not aware of any supporting documents for sending processed foods to Qatar.

The Department is not aware of any other requirements (for example, packaging, labelling) for processed foods.

The Department is not aware of any exemptions being granted by Qatar. Exporters are encouraged to confirm if any exemptions apply by contacting their importer or, if needed, the relevant Qatar government authority.
