Animal feed products
1.1 Prohibited
Unless specified within the commodity list below, the Department is unaware of any specific requirement for inedible non-prescribed goods that are for export to Japan.
1.2 Conditions
Generally, compliance with relevant Australian domestic requirements is satisfactory and no certification is necessary for export to Japan.
3.1 Government certification
An NX188B (NEXDOC) certificate can be issued for animal feed and supplement products that do not contain any animal origin material that are exported as non-prescribed goods to Japan.
- Note
- Stockfeed which requires a phytosanitary certificate (i.e. prescribed plant products) is not eligible for the NX188B to Japan. Refer to Micor Plants for further information on requirements for phytosanitary certification.
Exporters should check certificate requirements with their importer, or the importing country authority.
Animal feed products that contain di-calcium phosphate
For animal feed products that contain di-calcium phosphate, use the manufacturer's declaration along with the Department's letterhead declaration.
Animal feed products that contain gelatine derived from bovine hide
For animal feed products that contain gelatine derived exclusively from bovine hide, use EX188B certificate with the following endorsement:
The gelatine contained in this product is derived 100% from bovine hides.
- Note
- Certification has not been established for animal feed products that contain gelatine derived from bones. Exporters interested in sending this product to Japan are advised to contact their Departmental regional office.
