3.1 Government certification
A government export certificate may be required for the export of functional foods, micronutrient-fortified foods or fortified foods. Exporters are encouraged to confirm the requirements for government export certificate through their importer or, if needed, the government authority of Vietnam.
Vietnam requires a Certificate of Free Sale (CFS) which is issued by the Department or Chamber of Commerce. The required information for applying a CFS from the Department is as below:
- Importing country official requirements.
- Product name (as product label) and product description.
- Manufacturing establishment name and address.
- A manufacturer’s declaration: the product name, product description, manufacturing establishment name and address, a statement that the product(s) is freely available for sale in the Australian domestic market and eligible for export.
- Evidence shows that the product is freely available for sale in the Australian domestic market.
More information for requesting a CFS can be found in the Industry Advice Notice (IAN) which was published by the Department.
The requirement is stipulated in Decree 69/2018 (Article 10) (DOC 363KB|PDF 682KB) including list of conditions.
3.2 Supporting documents and exporter declarations
The Department is not aware of any supporting documents for sending functional foods, micronutrient-fortified foods or fortified foods to Vietnam.
