1.1 Prohibited

The Department is unaware of any prohibited edible non-prescribed goods* that are for export to French Polynesia.

1.2 Conditions

Unless specified within the commodity list below, the Department is unaware of any specific requirement for edible non-prescribed goods* that are for export to French Polynesia.

*Importing country requirements for some non-prescribed goods that contain meat, fish, dairy or egg products and animal by-products are covered on the relevant meat, dairy, fish or egg pages in Micor. You should check for importing country requirements there.

2.1 Government certification

For edible apiculture products, use an EX188B certificate (NEXDOC only) with endorsement 605.

These edible bee products:

Have been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.

Have undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy and all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida.

The irradiated product has been handled, prepared or processed, identified, stored and transported under a competent HACCP and sanitary programme consistently implemented and in accordance with the requirements laid down in Codex alimentarius by Code of Practice for Radiation Processing of Food CAC/RPC 19-1979, General Standard for the Labelling of Prepackaged Foods CODEX STAN 1-1985 and General Standard for Irradiated Foods CODEX STAN 106-1983.

The following document provides instructions on how to complete certificate template number EX188B (within the Next Export Documentation system (NEXDOC) Portal):

Food products with more than 50 per cent net weight in bee products excluding propolis

Food products exempt from these certification requirements are such food products which have been baked, fried or contain bee products that have been boiled, or are encapsulated by a substance that does not contain sugar, fruit, honey, pollen or royal jelly and packaged in consumer-ready packages for direct retail sale.

For food containing greater than 50 per cent net weight of bee products other than propolis, use the EX188B (NEXDOC only) with the below additional endorsement.

Additional endorsement

The food containing bee-products other than propolis:

  • has been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.
  • contain bee-products which have undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy and all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida.

The food containing propolis:

  • has been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.

The food containing propolis:

  • has been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.
  • contains refined propolis and foods are packaged in consumer-ready packages for direct retail sale.
2.2 Supporting documents and exporter declarations

The exporter must attach supporting documentation (e.g. Exporter's Declaration, Manufacturer’s Declaration and/or Treatment Certificate) to the NEXDOC Request for Export (REX) to demonstrate the consignment’s compliance with the relevant endorsement.

The inedible bee products containing beewax:

contains beeswax that has undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida.

Inedible beeswax intended for beekeeping

For inedible beeswax intended for beekeeping use an EX188B certificate (NEXDOC only) with endorsement 607.

Beeswax intended for beekeeping;

Has undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy and all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida; and do not contain any synthetic pesticide residues at a level superior to analysis detection or originate from biologic agriculture.

Inedible pollen

For inedible pollen, useEX188B (NEXDOC only) with endorsement 606.

2.2 Supporting documents and exporter declarations
