3.1 Government certification
For edible apiculture products, use an EX188B certificate (NEXDOC only) with endorsement 605.

These edible bee products:
Have been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.
Have undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy and all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida.
The irradiated product has been handled, prepared or processed, identified, stored and transported under a competent HACCP and sanitary programme consistently implemented and in accordance with the requirements laid down in Codex alimentarius by Code of Practice for Radiation Processing of Food CAC/RPC 19-1979, General Standard for the Labelling of Prepackaged Foods CODEX STAN 1-1985 and General Standard for Irradiated Foods CODEX STAN 106-1983.

Food products with more than 50 per cent net weight in bee products excluding propolis
Food products exempt from these certification requirements are such food products which have been baked, fried or contain bee products that have been boiled, or are encapsulated by a substance that does not contain sugar, fruit, honey, pollen or royal jelly and packaged in consumer-ready packages for direct retail sale.
For food containing greater than 50 per cent net weight of bee products other than propolis, use the EX188B (NEXDOC only) with the below additional endorsement.

Additional endorsement
The food containing bee-products other than propolis:
- has been prepared, handled, stored and transported in accordance with Australian food hygiene regulations and in compliance with a HACCP based food safety program and are therefore deemed suitable for human consumption.
- contain bee-products which have undergone radiation treatment at a rate of at least 10 kGy and all precautions have been taken to prevent contamination with Aethina tumida.

3.2 Supporting documents and exporter declarations
The exporter must attach supporting documentation (e.g. Exporter's Declaration, Manufacturer’s Declaration and/or Treatment Certificate) to the NEXDOC Request for Export (REX) to demonstrate the consignment’s compliance with the relevant endorsement.
