The Swiss Confederation (Switzerland) is not a member country of the European Union (EU) but has harmonised some of the import conditions for aquaculture animals and products with EU.

Travel regulations for pets apply for importing pets that are accompanied by their owner and not being imported for commercial purposes. For information about the importation of animals for other purposes, refer to the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) website.
