It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements.

There are no agreed conditions for the importation of cats into Mongolia from Australia.

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

Prospective exporters of cats to Mongolia must seek written confirmation of the import health conditions from the Mongolian Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry and provide these with a National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (NAATI) certified 2/3 level English translation to the relevant Departmental regional office at the time of NOI submission.

Note

If the Department is not able to meet the import health conditions as provided, the export will not be able to proceed, and government-to-government negotiations may be required.

If your animal is returning to Australia, you should make yourself familiar with the Department’s requirements for importing live animals into Australia. This is important as your animal may have been exposed to diseases that do not occur in Australia.
