It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the Department's website.

An import permit is required and can be obtained from Peru's National Agricultural Health Service (SENASA).

Note

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

Health certificate

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS / REQUISITOS SANITARIOS

1. Australia is free from foot-and-mouth disease without vaccination, Schmallenberg virus, peste-des-petits ruminants, ovine and caprine pox, Rift Valley fever, contagious agalactia, scrapie, caprine contagious pleuropneumonia, vesicular stomatitis, enzootic abortion (in sheep), and ovine and caprine brucellosis (Brucella melitensis) / Australia es libre de Fiebre Aftosa sin vacunación, Virus de Schmallenberg, Peste de los pequeños rumiantes, viruela ovina y caprina, fiebre del Valle del Rift, agalaxia contagiosa, scrapie (Prúrigo lumbar), pleuroneumonía contagiosa caprina, estomatitis vesicular, aborto enzoótico de las ovejas y brucelosis ovina y caprina (Brucella melitensis).
   
   
2. The semen was collected from animals that have been kept in an artificial insemination centre approved and supervised by the Australian animal health authority and that is also approved by SENASA/ El semen fue obtenido de animales que permanecieron en un centro de inseminación artificial habilitado y supervisado por la Autoridad oficial de Sanidad animal de Australia y también se encuentra habilitado por el SENASA.
   
   
3. The donor animals were kept for at least thirty (30) days at the artificial insemination centre prior to the collection of the semen/ Los animales donantes permanecieron al menos treinta (30) días en el centro de inseminación artificial antes de la toma de semen.
   
   
4. The artificial insemination centre and the surrounding area within at least a 10-km radius are not located in a zone under quarantine or restriction for ovine or caprine movement for an infectious disease capable of being transmitted or carried by the semen during a 60-day period prior to the first collection and up to 30 days prior to the shipping and at the time of export / El centro de inseminación artificial y un área de 10 KM a su alrededor, no está ubicado en una zona bajo cuarentena o restricción de la movilización de ovinos o caprinos por enfermedad infecciosa capaz de ser transmitida o vehiculizadas por el semen, durante los treinta (30) días previos a la primera colecta  y hasta los 30 días previos al embarque y al momento de su exportación.
   
   
5. The semen was collected, processed, and stored according to the provisions of the relevant chapter of the current Terrestrial Animals Health Code of the OIE / El semen fue tomado, manipulado y almacenado conforme a lo dispuesto en el capítulo correspondiente del Código Sanitario para los Animales Terrestres de la OIE vigente.
   
   
6. The animals did not show any clinical signs of foot-and-mouth disease, rinderpest, peste-des-petits ruminants, bluetongue disease, ovine and caprine pox, ovine epididymitis, ovine and caprine brucellosis, and scrapie on the day the semen was collected nor during the following 30 days / Los animales no presentaron el día de la toma de semen ni durante los 30 días siguientes ningún signo clínico de: Fiebre Aftosa, Peste Bovina, Peste de los pequeños rumiantes, Lengua Azul, Viruela ovina y caprina, Epididimitis ovina, Brucelosis ovina y caprina, Prúrigo Lumbar.
   
   
7. BLUETONGUE / LENGUA AZUL
   The donor has tested negative for (please specify the date of the test and the laboratory where it was taken) /  El donador ha resultado negativo a (indíquese la fecha de prueba y el laboratorio donde se realizó la misma):
   
   
1. A serological test (ELISA or AGID) for the detection of antibodies to bluetongue virus which was collected at least every 60 days through out the period of semen collection and between 28 and 60 days after the final collection / Una prueba serológica (ELISA o IDGA) para la detección de anticuerpos contra el virus de Lengua Azul a la que furon sometidos por lo menos cada 60 dias durante el periodo de toma de semen para la remesa enviada y entre 28 y 60 dias despues de la última toma;
   
   or / o
   
   
2. Testing blood samples by virus isolation, taken at the beginning and the end of the semen collection, and at intervals of not less than seven (7) days during the time of semen collection of this consignment / Pruebas de aislamento de virus en muestras de sangre, tomadas al principio y al final de la recolección, y a intervalos no menores de siete (7) días durante el periodo de toma del semen objeto de la remesa;
   
   or / o
   
   
3. PCR tests on blood samples, taken at the beginning and end of semen collection and at least every twenty-eight (28) days during the semen collection for this consignment / Pruebas de PCR en muestras de sangre, tomadas al principio y al final de la recolección del semen, y al menos cada veintiocho (28) días durante el periodo de toma del semen objeto de la remasa.
   
   
8. OVINE EPIDIDYMITIS (mandatory only for sheep) / EPIDIMITIS OVINA (exigencia solo para ovinos):
   
   
1. The donors tested negative to one (1) ELISA test, and either one (1) agar gel immunodiffusion test or one (1) complement fixation test both taken simultaneously within thirty (30) days prior to the collection of the semen (please specify the date of the test and the laboratory where it was taken) / Los donadores resultaron negativos a una (01) prueba ELISA y a una de las siguientes pruebas: (01) prueba de immunodifusión en Gel de Agar ó (01) prueba de fijación de complemento ambas efectuadas simultáneamente, dentro de los treinta (30) días anteriores a la toma de semen (indíquese la fecha de prueba y el laboratorio donde se realizó la misma);
   
   and / y
    
2. The semen is free from Brucella ovis demonstrated by direct examination by Ziel-Neelson colouration method and microbiology culture in selective background (please specify the date of the test and the laboratory where it was taken) / El semen está exento de Brucella ovis demostrado por examen directo por el  método de coloración Ziel Neelson y cultivo microbiológico en medio selectivo (indíquese la fecha de prueba y el laboratorio donde se realizó la misma).
    
   
9. The shipping of the semen at the point of departure from Australia was subject to inspection or verification by the official competent authority, taking note of the integrity of the containers and the seals being intact and giving its approval to export / El embarque de semen en el punto de salida de Australia, fue sometido a inspección o verificación por la Autoridad Oficial Competente, constatando la integridad de los termos (ó contenedores) y de los precintos hallándolos intactos y prestando su conformidad a la exportación.
   
   
10. The diluted and treated semen has been kept apart from other semen that does not meet OIE standards. The collected semen was frozen and maintained in liquid nitrogen during thirty (30) days following the collection. The straws or vials have been identified through an Australia-approved code for the identification of the donor and the date of collection / El semen diluido y tratado se ha mantenido separado de otro semen que no cumple los estándares de OIE. El semen recolectado fue congelado y mantenido en nitrógeno líquido durante los 30 días posteriores a la colección. Las pajillas o ampollas se han identificado mediante un código aprobado en Australia para la identificación del donador y fecha de recolección.
    
    
11. The tank or tanks for the storage and transport of the semen are new or have been disinfected with a disinfectant authorised by the Australian Department of Agriculture, and being closed and sealed by the artificial insemination centre veterinarian / El termo o termos (contenedor o contenedores) para el almacenamiento y transporte del semen son nuevos o han sido desinfectados con productos autorizados por el Departamento de Agricultura de Australia, fueron precintados y sellados por el Veterinario del equipo de colecta de semen.
