An import permit may be required for the importation of frozen dog (canine) semen.

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

1. 6.1 STATUT SANITAIRE DE L'ETALON/ HEALTH STATUS OF DONOR DOG
1. 6.1.1  L'animal donneur réside, sans aucune restriction quarantenaire, depuis au moins 6 mois en Australie. Durant cette période il n'a pas été vacciné contre la rage avec un vaccin vivant / The donor animal has been resident in Australia and free from all quarantine restrictions for at least six months immediately prior to export. During this period, the donor animal has not been vaccinated against rabies with a live vaccine.
2. 6.1.2 L'animal donneur a été examiné le jour du prélèvement et au moins 15 jours après le dernier prélèvement. Durant cette période, il n'a présenté aucun signe clinique de leptospirose, de sarcome de Sticker et de tout autre signe clinique de maladie contagieuse et infectieuse de l'espèce (incluant l'ensemble des maladies vénériennes) / The donor animal was examined on the day of collection and at least 15 days after the last collection. During this period, the donor animal did not present any clinical sign of leptospirosis, canine transmissible venereal tumour (CTVT,Sticker's sarcoma) or any other clinical sign of contagious or infectious diseases of this species (including venereally transmitted diseases).

4. 6.1.3 S'il vit dans un chenil, aucun signe clinique de maladie infectieuse et contagieuse, et notamment de leptospirose et d'herpès virose, n'a été constaté depuis 6 mois au moins dans ce chenil. / If the donor animal lives in a kennel, no clinical sign of infectious and contagious disease, and particularly of leptospirosis and herpes virus, has been noticed for at least 6 months.
5. 6.1.4.  Si l'animal donneur n'est pas né en Australie ou a déjà voyagé en dehors de l'Australie, il a été soumis à un test par immunofluorescence indirecte ou Western Blot ou ELISA destiné à déceler la présence d'anticorps anti-leishmaniens avec résultat négatif au minimum 15 jours et au maximum 60 jours après la collecte. Les analyses sont exécutées dans un laboratoire reconnu officiellement / Donor dogs not born and not permanently resident in Australia are required to be tested for Leishmaniasis by an indirect immunofluorescence test or Western Blot or ELISA to detect the presence of anti-leishmania antibodies with negative result at least 15 days and a maximum of 60 days after the collection date. All the tests are to be conducted at an officially approved laboratory.

2. 6.2 RECOLTE ET PREPRATION DE LA SEMENCE / SEMEN COLLECTION AND PROCESSING
1. 6.2.1    La semence a été récoltée et préparée dans de strictes conditions d'hygiène et de façon à éviter toute contamination par de la semence issue d'un donneur différent, par un vétérinaire reconnue officiellement / The semen was collected in a sterile manner  by a registered veterinarian preventing any contamination with semen of donors not of equivalent tested health status.
2. 6.2.2        La semence a été conditionnée avec un diluant constitué exclusivement de substrats stérilisés / After due enquiry, the semen was diluted with an extender and sterility was maintained.
3. 6.2.3   Additifs (antibiotiques, diluants …) / Additives used (Antibiotics, preservatives …): la semence a été conditionnée avec une combinaison d'antibiotiques aux effets au moins équivalents aux dilutions suivantes (efficace contre Leptospira spp.) : 500 UI/ml streptomycine, 500 UI/ml de pénicilline, 150 µg/lincomycine, 300 µg/ml spectinomycine/  After due enquiry, a combination of antibiotics was added to the semen, equivalent to at least the following concentrations (effective against Leptospira spp.): 500 UI/ml of streptomycin, 500 UI/ml of pénicillin, 150 µg/ml of lincomycin, 300 µg/ml of spectinomycin.
4. 6.2.4       Au moment de la collecte, chaque paillette a été marquée de façon permanente avec le numéro de puce électronique, l'espèce et la race du donneur et la date de collecte / At the time of semen collection, each semen straw/vial was permanently marked with the microchip number of the donor animal; the species and breed of the donor animal; and the date of semen collection.
5. 6.2.5    Le cas échéant, semence a été soumise après congélation à une analyse qualitative (motilité des spermatozoïdes, concentration) satisfaisante (rayer si non effectué) / After freezing, the semen was subjected to a qualitative analysis (sperm cells' mobility and concentration).(Delete if not relevant)
3. 6.3 STOCKAGE DE SEMENCE/ SEMEN STORAGE.
1. 6.3.1      La semence est stockée dans conteneur lavé, désinfecté et stérilisé avant utilisation, conservé dans de l'azote non contaminé et dans un local agréé / The semen is stored in a cleaned, disinfected and sterilized container,with  uncontaminated liquid nitrogen and in an approved premises.
2. 6.3.2        La semence a été stockée au minimum 15 jours dans l'attente des expertises cliniques et bactériologiques le cas échéant / The semen has been stored for at least 15 days, pending  clinical examination results and bacteriological analysis results if needed.
4. 6.4 EXPORTATION DE LA SEMENCE/ SEMEN EXPORT.
