- Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.
Health requirements
Following Australia’s declaration of freedom from Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, Malaysia’s import health requirements for poultry hatching eggs from Australia were revised on 29 October 2025.
Should exporters seek to export poultry hatching eggs, please contact the Department’s regional office in the Australian state or territory from where the consignment will depart as government-to-government negotiations through the National Program in Canberra are required. The consignment will not be able to proceed until these negotiations are complete.
- Note
- As importing country requirements may change without advice to the Department, you should check the import permit and/or the country website carefully at the time of preparation for export.
