Importing country requirements

It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements.

Information about the process required to import animals into Hong Kong can be found on the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department website.

In October 2022, the Hong Kong authority advised that additional vaccinations (booster or continuation of primary course) given within 14 days of import is not prohibited and both dates of vaccination may be included in the health certificate.

Note
Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.
