It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist ​exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the Department’s website.

Note

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

As importing country health requirements may change without advice to the Department you should check the import permit and/or the country’s website carefully at the time of preparation for export.

   1. 1.1 Australia is free from bovine (B. abortus), rhinotracheitis 1.1, 1.2a and 5, bovine tuberculosis (Mycobacterium bovis), contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, foot and mouth disease (without vaccination), lumpy skin disease, Rift Valley fever and vesicular stomatitis. /

2. Semen collection and treatment center / Centro de colecta y tratamiento de semen
   
   
   1. 2.1 The semen has been collected from animals that have remai​ned in a semen collection center (SCC) authorized and supervised by the Competent Official Authority of Australia for export and has been authorized by the Official Veterinary Service of Ecuador /
      El semen ha sido colectado de animales que han permanecido en un centro de colecta de semen (SCC) autorizado y supervisado por la Autoridad Oficial Competente de Australia para la exportación y ha sido habilitados por el Servicio Veterinario Oficial del Ecuador.
      
      
   2. 2.2 The semen to be exported has been collected, handled and treated in an establishment in accordance with the provisions of the current WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code and under the supervision of a veterinarian designated for this purpose by the Official Competent Authority of Australia. /
      El semen a ser exportado ha sido colectado, manipulado y tratado en un establecimiento conforme con lo establecido en el Código Sanitario para Animales Terrestres de la OMSA vigente y bajo la supervisión de un veterinario designado a tal efecto por la Autoridad Oficial Competente de Australia.
      
      
   3. 2.3 The semen collection center (SCC) is audited periodically at intervals not exceeding 12 months. /

   2. 3.2 During the 28 days prior to collecting the semen to be exported to Ecuador, the donors were kept in isolation prior to entry and were not corralled, herded or kept with animals that did not have the same health status, nor subject to restrictions that would have disqualified them for export to Ecuador. /
      Durante los 28 días anteriores a la colecta del semen a ser exportado a Ecuador, los donantes se mantuvieron en aislamiento previo al ingreso y no fueron acorralados, pastoreados o mantenidos con animales que no tuvieran el mismo estatus sanitario ni sometidos a restricciones que los hubieran inhabilitado para la exportación a Ecuador.
      
      
   3. 3.3 The donor animals were periodically examined by the veterinarian of the semen collection center (SCC) and no clinical signs of semen-transmissible diseases on the WOAH list were observed during their stay at the SCC, including the day or days of semen collection. /
      Los animales donantes fueron examinados periódicamente por el veterinario del centro de colecta de semen (SCC) y no se observaron signos clínicos de enfermedades transmisibles por el semen de la lista de la OMSA durante su estancia en el SCC, incluido el día o los días de colecta de semen.

   3. 4.3 Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus (BVD) / Virus de la Diarrea Viral Bovina (DVB)

      1. 4.3.1 The donor has undergone a virus isolation test or a viral antigen detection test, with negative results; AND /

      2. 4.3.2 The donor has undergone a serological test to determine the serological status of each animal. /

      3. 4.3.3 All animals in previous isolation have been subjected to a virus isolation test or a viral antigen detection test, with negative results. (Animals will only be able to enter semen collection establishments when all animals in previous isolation have tested negative). /

      4. 4.3.4 All animals in isolation, prior to entry, have undergone a serological test to determine the presence or absence of antibodies against bovine viral diarrhea (BVD). /
         Todos los animales en aislamiento, previo al ingreso han sido sometidos a una prueba serológica para determinar la presencia o ausencia de anticuerpos contra la diarrea viral bovina (DVB).
         
         
      5. 4.3.5 Only if seroconversion has not occurred in the animals that were seronegative prior to their entry into the isolation establishment, may the entry of any animal (seronegative or seropositive) into semen collection establishments be authorized. /
         Solo en caso de no haberse producido seroconversión en los animales que resultaron seronegativo previo a su ingreso al establecimiento de aislamiento, podrá autorizarse el ingreso de cualquier animal (seronegativo o seropositivo) en los establecimientos de colecta de semen.
         
         
      6. 4.3.6 If seroconversion has occurred, all animals that remain seronegative must be kept in isolation prior to entry until no further seroconversion occurs in the group for a period of three weeks. /
         En caso de haberse producido seroconversión, todos los animales que sigan siendo seronegativos deberán mantenerse en aislamiento previo al ingreso hasta que no se produzca más seroconversión en el grupo durante un período de tres semanas.

      7. 4.3.7 At the time of entry into semen collection establishments, seronegative donors must undergo a serological test for BVD detection at least once a year to confirm the absence of antibodies. If an animal tests serologically positive, all ejaculates collected since that animal's last negative result will be discarded or tested for the virus with negative results. /
         En el momento de su ingreso a los establecimientos de colecta de semen, los donantes seronegativos deberán ser sometidos al menos una vez al año a una prueba serológica de detección de la DVB para confirmar la ausencia de anticuerpos. Si un animal resulta serológicamente positivo, todas las eyaculaciones recolectadas desde el último resultado negativo de ese animal serán descartadas o sometidas a pruebas de detección del virus con resultados negativos.
         
         
      8. 4.3.8 Bovine viral diarrhea detection tests prior to the initial shipment of semen from each serologically positive bull: Prior to the initial shipment of semen from each bull serologically positive for BVD, a semen sample from each animal will be subjected to a virus isolation test or of viral antigens for the detection of bovine viral diarrhea. If the result is positive, the bull will be removed from the center and all of its collected semen will be destroyed. /
         Pruebas de detección de diarrea viral bovina previas al envío inicial de semen de cada toro serológicamente positivo: Previo al envío inicial de semen de cada toro serológicamente positivo para DVB, se someterá una muestra de semen de cada animal a una prueba de aislamiento del virus o de antígenos virales para la detección de la diarrea viral bovina. En caso de resultar positivo, el toro será retirado del centro y todo su semen recolectado será destruido.
      
      
   4. 4.4 Enzootic bovine leukosis (EBL) / Leucosis bovina enzoótica (LBE)
      
      
      1. 4.4.1 The donor resided in a semen collection center in which all animals were free of enzootic bovine leukosis during semen collection; AND /
         El donante residió en un centro de colecta de semen en el que todos los animales estaban libres de leucosis bovina enzoótica durante la colecta de semen; Y
         
         
      2. 4.4.2 If it is less than two years old, the bull comes from a serologically negative "uterine" female; OR /

      3. 4.4.3 The donor underwent diagnostic tests (AGID or ELISA) for the detection of enzootic bovine leukosis in blood samples on 2 occasions with negative results; the first test was performed at least 30 days before and the second at least 21 days after semen collection; OR /

      4. 4.4.4 A proportion of no less than 0.5 mL of treated semen from the donor's last semen collection for this shipment was subjected to a virus isolation test or a PCR test with negative results. /

   5. 4.5 Trichomonas fetus and Campylobacteriosis fetus / Trichomonas fetus y Campylobacteriosis fetus

5. Storage and transportation / Almacenamiento y transporte
   
   
   1. 5.1 Semen straws were stored only with semen or embryos of equivalent health status. /

   2. 5.2 The shipping container in which the semen will be transported to Ecuador is new or disinfected and free of contamination. /
