It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the Department’s website.

Note

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

As importing country health requirements may change without advice to the Department you should check the import permit and/or the country’s website carefully at the time of preparation for export.

   1. ​​1.1 Australia is free of bovine spongiform encephalopathy, bovine brucellosis (B. abortus), contagious bovine pleuropneumonia, foot and mouth disease (without vaccination), lumpy skin disease, Rift Valley fever, bovine tuberculosis (Mycobacterium bovis) and vesicular stomatitis. /
      Australia está libre de encefalopatía espongiforme bovina, brucelosis bovina (B. abortus), perineumonía contagiosa bovina, fiebre aftosa (sin vacunación), dermatosis nodular contagiosa, fiebre del Valle del Rift, tuberculosis bovina (Mycobacterium bovis) y estomatitis vesicular.

   2. 2.2 During the 28 days prior to the collection of embryos to be exported to Ecuador, and during the collection, the donor female or females were not corralled, herded or kept with animals that did not have the same health status or subjected to restrictions that would have disqualified them for export to Ecuador. /
      Durante los 28 días previos a la colecta de embriones a ser exportados a Ecuador, y durante la colecta, la hembra o hembras donantes no fueron acorraladas, pastoreadas o mantenidas con animales que no tuvieran el mismo estatus sanitario ni sometidas a restricciones que las hubieran inhabilitado para la exportación a Ecuador.
      
      
   3. 2.3 At the time of embryo collection, each donor female was examined by an Australian government-licensed Embryo Transfer Veterinarian (ETV) and showed no signs of embryo transfer transmissible disease. /
      En el momento de la colecta de embriones, cada hembra donante fue examinada por un Veterinario de Transferencia de Embriones autorizado por el gobierno de Australia y no mostró signos de enfermedad transmisible por transferencia de embriones.

   1. 3.1 If artificial insemination was used, the semen was collected and treated in accordance with what is recommended in the current WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code; OR /

4. Embryo collection and treatment / Recolecta y tratamiento de embriones
   
   
   1. 4.1 At the time of collection of embryos to be exported to Ecuador, the collection establishment and the veterinarian of the embryo collection/production team (ETV) were authorized by the Official Competent Authority of Australia to collect, treat and store bovine embryos intended for export, in accordance with the current recommendations of the current WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code and the current International Embryo Transfer Society (IETS) manual. The establishment has been authorized by the Official Veterinary Service of Ecuador. /
      En el momento de la recolección de embriones a ser exportados a Ecuador, el establecimiento de recolección y el veterinario del equipo de recolección/producción de embriones (ETV) se encontraban autorizados por la Autoridad Oficial Competente de Australia para recolectar, tratar y almacenar embriones bovinos destinados a la exportación, de conformidad con las recomendaciones vigentes del Código Sanitario para Animales Terrestres de la OMSA vigente y el manual de la Sociedad Internacional de Transferencia de Embriones (IETS) vigente. El establecimiento ha sido habilitado por el Servicio Veterinario Oficial del Ecuador
      
      
   2. 4.2 All straws were sealed and clearly and permanently marked to identify the donor and the date(s) of freezing. The marks comply with the international standards of the International Committee on Animal Registration (ICAR) and the IETS Manual. /
      Todas las pajuelas fueron selladas y marcadas de forma clara y permanente para identificar al donante y la(s) fecha(s) de congelación. Las marcas se ajustan a las normas internacionales del Comité Internacional de Registro de Animales (ICAR) y al Manual de la IETS.

5. Storage and transportation / Almacenamiento y transporte
   
   
   1. 5.1 The embryos have been stored and transported only with germplasm (semen and embryos) collected and treated in accordance with the WOAH Terrestrial Animal Health Code. /
      Los embriones han sido almacenados y transportados únicamente con germoplasma (semen y embriones) recolectado y tratado de conformidad con el Código Sanitario para Animales Terrestres de la OMSA.
      
      
   2. 5.2 Embryo straws were stored only with other embryos or semen of equivalent health status. /

   3. 5.3 The shipping container in which the embryos will be transported to Ecuador is new or disinfected and free of contamination. /
