It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animals meet the importing country requirements.

An import permit is required. Contact the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock in Brazil or the Embassy of Brazil in Canberra​ for information about the process required to import animals to Brazil from Australia.

Note

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

1. São originários de um estabelecimento ou uma área onde não houve nenhuma medida veterinária e / ou nenhuma proibição, devido à ocorrência de doenças infecciosas e não foram abatidos como medida oficial de controle de doenças como resultado de um surto da doença/ /
   
   Originate from an establishment or area where there has been no veterinary measure and/or no prohibition due to the occurrence of infectious disease and were not slaughtered as an official disease control measure as a result of an outbreak of disease;
   
   
2. Foram provenientes de um estabelecimento ou área não associada a qualquer doença infecciosa ou pragas significativa e onde não houve qualquer mortalidade anormal durante os últimos 6 meses anteriores à exportação para os quais a causa não pôde ser confirmada /
   
   Were sourced from an establishment or area not associated with any significant infectious disease or pests and where there have not been any unusual mortality during the past 6 months prior to export for which the cause could not be confirmed;
   
   
3. Originários de um estabelecimento que tem um sistema de tratamento de água que inactive (assegura a ausência de) agentes patogénicos para animais aquáticos/
   
   Originate from an establishment having a water treatment system which inactivates (assures the absence of) pathogenic agents to aquatic animals;
   
   
4. Foram submetidos a quarentena em um estabelecimento que estava sob a supervisão de DAFF, para um mínimo de 15 dias para
   
   
   • Gourami (Osphronemidade family) and
     
     
   • Ciclideos (Cichlidae family)
     
     e
     
     7 dias para todas as outras espécies não listadas na condição 6 abaixo, sem sinais clínicos de doença infecciosa ou pragas, e não que estiveram em contato com água associada a outras criações comerciais ou industriais de animais aquáticos anfíbios /
   
   Underwent quarantine in an establishment that was under the supervision of DAFF, for a minimum of 15 days for
   
   
   • Gourami (Osphronemidade family) and
     
     
   • Cichlid (Cichlidae family)
     
     and
     
     7 days for all other species not listed in condition 6 below , with no clinical signs of infectious disease or pests, and were not in contact with water associated with other commercially or industrially farmed aquatic animals or amphibians;

Permission to move aquatic animals out of Australia

You may need permission under wildlife trade laws to move aquatic animals out of Australia. Refer to the Department’s International and wildlife trade requirements.

Export from Australia of Australian native hatchery bred fingerlings or ova should be accompanied by approval of the hatchery facility from the appropriate State or Federal authority.
