Importing country requirements

It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements.

Information about the process required to import animals into the People's Republic of Bangladesh can be found on the Livestock Department website.

Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.

Health requirements

Health certificate

I, ____________________________________, an official veterinarian for the government of Australia certify to the best of my knowledge that:

  1. The Australian State or Territory from which the day-old chickens or hatching eggs for export to Bangladesh are derived is free from highly pathogenic avian influenza.

    Documentation from the State or Territory Veterinary authority identifying that the state or territory is free from HPAI.

  2. The day-old chickens or hatching eggs originate from breeding establishments and hatcheries that are audited and approved for export by the Australian Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry.

    Documentation confirming successful audit and approval of breeding establishment and hatchery by the Commonwealth (DAWE) within 12 months prior to export.

  3. The day-old chickens or hatching eggs are produced from donor flocks that have not been vaccinated against avian influenza

    Declaration from the operator of the donor flock establishment that the day-old chickens or hatching eggs were produced from donor flocks that have not been vaccinated against avian influenza.

  4. The donor flocks from which the day-old chickens or hatching eggs are produced are part of a salmonella accreditation scheme for Salmonella pullorum, Salmonella gallinarum, Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella enteritidis.

    Documentation from the State or Territory Veterinary authority confirming the donor flocks from which the day-old chickens or hatching eggs were produced, are accredited Salmonella-free flocks for Salmonella pullorum, Salmonella gallinarum, Salmonella typhimurium and Salmonella enteritidis.

    OR

    1. a]  The donor flocks from which the day-old chickens or hatching eggs are produced have been tested for S. pullorum and S. gallinarum by serum agglutination tests at least twice in the 6 months prior to export, including once within 30 days of export. A number sufficient to detect 5% prevalence with 95% confidence was tested. No evidence of S. pullorum or S. gallinarum was detected.

    2. Records of sampling and laboratory test results from the donor flocks within the appropriate time frame and of a sufficient number to meet the required prevalence and confidence levels.

    3. AND

    4. b]  The housing of the donor flocks from which the day-old chickens or hatching eggs are produced has been microbiologically tested for S. typhimurium and S. enteritidis. Five samples per house were tested at least twice in the 6 months prior to export, including once within 30 days of export. No evidence of S. typhimurium or S. enteritidis was detected.

    5. Records of sampling and laboratory test results from the housing of the donor flocks of a sufficient number and within the appropriate time frame.

  5. The day-old chickens have been hatched from eggs that had been fumigated before setting. (delete if hatching eggs)

    Declaration from the operator of the breeder flock establishment/hatchery that the day-old chickens have been hatched from eggs that had been fumigated before setting.

  6. The day-old chickens have been hatched from hatchers that were disinfected or fumigated before use. (delete if hatching eggs)

    Declaration from the operator of the breeder flock establishment/ hatchery that the day-old chickens have been hatched from hatchers that were disinfected or fumigated before use.

  7. The hatching eggs for export have been disinfected or fumigated prior to packing (delete for day-old chickens)

    Declaration from the operator of the breeder flock establishment/hatchery that the hatching eggs have been disinfected or fumigated prior to packing.

  8. The day-old chickens or hatching eggs were placed into new, clean packaging for export to Bangladesh. The day-old chickens or hatching eggs destined for export have not come into contact with other poultry, eggs or birds.

    Exporter declaration that the day-old chickens or hatching eggs were packed in new, clean packaging for export and have had no contact with other poultry, eggs or birds.
