General Requirements
General requirements
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.Consignments are to be packed in clean, new packages/bags not previously used for any purpose.
Consignment
must be clearly labelled with its full botanical name (genus and species).
Seed potatoes must be practically free of soil. The department's soil tolerance applies in this regards (Contaminants include more than 25g of soil per sample taken for 2 per cent inspections and 25g of soil in the combined samples for the inspection lot for 600 unit inspections.)
Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Seed potatoes must be sourced from a nationally recognised seed potato certification scheme. Exporter to provide evidence of certification and present to the Authorised Officer at time of inspection.
