Consignments must meet the requirements of the Export Plan for fresh produce from Australia to New Zealand. The Export Plan is available through Micor Plants in the 'Documents' section. Access is restricted and requires a logon.
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
Exporters may choose to use the following contaminant tolerances during phytosanitary inspection as referred to in the Import Health Standard 152.02. The permitted tolerances are for a 600-unit sample.
- 25g of soil
- 12 leaves
- 8 regulated weed seeds
All mangoes exported to New Zealand must:
- have been treated by irradiation at a minimum dose of 289 Gy for Conogethes punctiferalis (Yellow peach moth) and fruit flies.
Please note: the irradiation dose of 289 Gy covers the minimum dose of 150 Gy required for fruit flies.
If irradiating for other regulated pests then treat the consignment by irradiation at a minimum dose of 400 Gy or 500 Gy.

Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
