Consignments must meet the requirements of the Export Plan for fresh produce from Australia to New Zealand. The Export Plan is available through
Micor Plants in the
'Documents' section. Access is restricted and requires a logon.
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
Exporters may choose to use the following contaminant tolerances during phytosanitary inspection as referred to in the Import Health Standard 152.02. The permitted tolerances are for a 600-unit sample.
- 25g of soil
- 12 leaves
- 8 regulated weed seeds
All lychees exported to New Zealand must:
- have been treated by irradiation at a minimum absorbed dose of 150 Gy for Bactrocera Jarvis (Jarvis's fruit fly), Bactrocera neohumeralis (lesser Queensland fruit fly) and Bactrocera tryoni (Queensland fruit fly).
If irradiating for other regulated pests then treat the consignment by irradiation at a minimum dose of 400 Gy or 500 Gy.
