General Requirements

​Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

All mangoes exported to Lebanon must:
  • Have been treated for Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tryoni)
OR
  • Have been sourced from a pest free area for Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tryoni).

Explanation of fruit fly pest free areas (PFAs)

The following areas are recognised as pest free areas for Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tryoni) and Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata):

  • ​Tasmania

AND

Exporters sourcing fruit from the Riverland must present a State government certificate at the time of inspection which states all fruit was sourced from properties outside the suspension areas.



​​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.​

Treatment

Irradiation:

  • Irradiation at a minimum of 100 Gy.

The treatment is to be shown on the Phytosanitary certificate as:
  • IRRADIATION AT MINIMUM 100 GRAY.​​​


Vapour Heat Treatment:

  • Fruit core temperature at 47 °C or above for 15 minutes.
The treatment is to be shown on the Phytosanitary certificate as:​​
  • VAPOUR HEAT TREATED AT 47 DEGREES CELSUIS OR ABOVE FOR 15 MINUTES

Additional Declaration/Endorsements

​Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 7801)
1) Australia is free from fruit flies listed in annex 1 (related to the fruits) in accordance with the relevant International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures, and this freedom status has been communicated in advance in writing to Lebanon by the national plant protection organization of Australia.
2) That the fruit was produced in Tasmania or the Riverland. a specified pest free area for Bactrocera tryoni.
3) Fruits in the consignment are free of the pests listed in annex 1&2 related to the fruits.​

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7802)
1) Australia is free from fruit flies listed in annex 1 (related to the fruits) in accordance with the relevant International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures, and this freedom status has been communicated in advance in writing to Lebanon by the national plant protection organization of Australia.
2)Immediately prior to export, fruits have been subject to an effective post-harvest treatment to ensure freedom from Bactrocera tryoni, details of the treatment method are indicated on the phytosanitary certificate.
3)Fruits in the consignment are free of the pests listed in annex 1&2 related to the fruits.​
