General Requirements

​Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 8218:
  • A crop inspection report stating that the parent plants were inspected during active growth and found to be free of Bean common mosaic virus, Leaf spot (Colletotrichum dematium) and False smut (Epicoccum nigrum) is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
Endorsement 8219:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate stating that a representative sample of the seeds was tested and found to be free of Bean common mosaic virus, Leaf spot (Colletotrichum dematium) and False smut (Epicoccum nigrum) is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Treatment

​The seeds are to be treated with an approved broad spectrum fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements (registered label rates) prior to packing.

​​Consignments are to be treated with an approved fumigant at recommended manufacturer's requirements 14 days prior to export.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

1) A representative sample of the consignment was found free through laboratory testing of Bean common mosaic virus, Leaf spot (Colletotrichum dematium) and False smut (Epicoccum nigrum).
