General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and official translation of the Import permit must be presented to the Department of Agriculture Authorised Officer at the time of making the appointment.

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Consignments are to have a minimum grain moisture content of 10%.

Treatment

All consignments are to be treated with a Thiram and Carboxin based fungicide at recommended manufacturers requirements, or any other poduct with an equivalent chemical ingredient.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 4655)
1) Merchant grain beetle (Oryzaephilus mercalor) is not known to occur in Australia,
2) The crop was inspected during active growth and found free from Bacterial leaf stripe of sorghum and corn (Pseudomonas syringae pv syringae) and Bean bacterial brown spot (Burkholderia andropogonis),
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Sawtooth grain beetle (Oryzaephilus surinamensis).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1118)
1) Merchant grain beetle (Oryzaephilus mercalor) is not known to occur in Australia,
2) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Bacterial leaf stripe of sorghum and corn (Pseudomonas syringae pv syringae) and Bean bacterial brown spot (Burkholderia andropogonis),
3) A representative sample was inspected and found free of Sawtooth grain beetle (Oryzaephilus surinamensis).
