General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Original and official translation of the Import Permit must be presented to the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources Authorised Officer at the time of making the appointment.

The seed must be packed in new packaging.

Treatment

The consignments are to be treated with Thiram, Carbendazin or Tiabendazol or another appropriate fungicide at manufacturer's label requirements.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the department at time of authorisation.

The details of the treatment are to be endorsed on the Phytosanitary Certificate in the treatment section.

Note:
  • The import permit references benomyl fungicide treatment, however there are no products containing benomyl which are registered by the Australian Pesticide and Veterinary Medicines Authority for use in Australia.
