Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Exporter is to present to the Authorised Officer an exporter declaration stating that the cotton consignment has not been carried on a ship originating from the western hemisphere or is carrying American cotton. This documentary evidence must also be provided to the Bangladesh authorities.
If such evidence cannot be provided, the whole consignment will be treated as American cotton and will be subject to fumigation treatment on arrival. Exporting cotton without an exporter declaration is at the exporter's own commercial risk.
