Canned food that contains eggs as a component
Exporter update (24/08/2020)

The availability of some export certification may be affected due to the detections of notifiable avian influenza in Victoria in July and August 2020. Please refer to the latest Market Access Advice issued for the most up-to-date information on currently affected certificates. To obtain a copy, please email exportstandards@awe.gov.au

For canned food that contains eggs as a component, use EX46 with endorsement signed by a Departmental veterinary officer.

The exporter must provide a declaration:

  • that the cans have been processed so that the contents achieved a minimum of 100 °C for a minimum of 1 minute
  • stating the exact temperature used in the manufacturing process and duration of heating
  • stating the country of origin of the eggs.
Additional endorsement

I am familiar with the process of manufacture and have no reason to doubt the truth of the manufacturer’s declaration.
