Special conditions
The embryos shall originate from a farm (as identified by its name and address) which is supervised by the veterinary authorities of Australia.
The donor bulls and cows shall have been kept at the farm providing the embryos for at least 1 year.
Health certification
Australia (or district of origin) is free for from-
.African swine fever
and for the previous 5 years from-
.Foot and mouth disease
.Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia
.Rinderpest
.Vesicular stomatitis
The premises of origin (farm) of the donor cows and bulls to be free from (not been known to occur)-
a) for the previous 1 year
.Brucellosis
.Tuberculosis
.Malignant catarrhal fever (bovine malignant catarrah)
.Paratuberculosis (Johne's disease)
.Bluetongue
.Aujeszky's disease (pseudorabies)
b) for the previous 6 months
.Enzootic bovine leucosis
.Bovine virus diarrhoea
.Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis/infectious pustular
vulvovaginitis
.Campylobacteriosis (vibriosis)
.Trichomoniasis
.Leptospirosis
In addition the cattle shall be inspected and found to have no signs of any of these communicable diseases within 30 days prior to embryo collection. The testing records below shall be provided if the donor bulls have no longer existed.
Pre-export preparations
The donor bulls and cows and all cattle in the same farm shall not be vaccinated against Foot and mouth disease, Rinderpest or Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia or with any other vaccines that have not been approved.
The donor bulls and cows shall be tested against the diseases listed below with negative results by the animal quarantine authorities (stating the test methods and dates, sampling dates and test results)-
.Bluetongue by complement fixation test (CFT) or agar gel
immunodiffusion test (AGID)
.Brucellosis by tube agglutination test (negative is less than
50 IU)
.Tuberculosis by intradermal tuberculin test
.Campylobacteriosis (vibriosis) by culture of vaginal mucus or
preputial washings
.Trichomoniasis by microscopic examination and culture of
preputial washings or vaginal mucus
.Enzootic bovine leucosis by agar gel immunodiffusion test
(AGID)
.Paratuberculosis (Johne's disease) by complement fixation
test (CFT) or fecal culture test
Product processing
The embryo shall be collected, handled, preserved and transported under a sanitary condition free from contamination by infectious agents.
