Can anyone get access to MICoR?
- Exporters and affiliated industries can access all areas of MICoR. The general public can access general importing requirements for plants and importing requirements for non livestock species and companion animals.
How do I access content in MICoR?
- Some content in MICoR requires a username and password to access with the following exceptions; general importing country requirements for plants, importing country requirements for non livestock species and companion animals.
- To obtain a login to MICoR you must complete the ‘apply for access’ form on the login panel of the commodity home page. Plant exporters need to click the ‘register with Plant Exports’ link located on the documents page.

Please note that logins are assigned to the individual that completed the form. DAFF does not provide logins for organisations.
How do I register for a MICoR account and obtain a login?
- To register for an account and obtain a MICoR login, open MICoR (see ‘Where is MICoR?’), select your commodity (eg Fish, or Dairy) and click on ‘Apply for access’ in the grey box towards the right-hand side of the screen.
- Fill in the questionnaire, which includes your reason for requesting an account. DAFF staff will assess the application.
- Registration is not instantaneous. You will receive an email within two days to say that registration for a MICoR account has been granted. You should now use the username and login password you applied for. If you do not receive a email within two days, contact your relevant commodity for information and assistance.
What do I do if I have forgotten my password?
- If you have forgotten your password you can select “Forgot your password?” from the login screen.
- Enter your username in the blank field and click the submit button.
- Instructions of what to do next will be sent to the registered email address entered on the application form when the MICoR account was created.
What do I do if I have forgotten my username?
- If you have forgotten your username you will be unable to login or request a password reset. Please contact your relevant commodity or the MICoR helpdesk.

- Select "Forgot your Password?" in the Login area. Enter your username and instructions on how to assign a new password will be sent to your nominated email address.
What do I do if I no longer require access to MICoR?
- Notify your DAFF commodity area or contact the relevant MICoR program to have your account deactivated.
What do I do if I have been locked out of my account?
- If you enter your password incorrectly three times the MICoR system will lock your account and you will not able to access MICoR. You cannot re-activate the account yourself and you will have to contact the DAFF helpdesk to have your account re-activated.
- For MICoR dairy users please send an email to
micordairy@daff.gov.au to have your account re-activated.
What do I do if I need to change or edit my password or contact details?
- Once you are logged in, click on your name which is located at the top left hand of the page under the Australian government logo and the edit details screen will appear with your details pre-populated in the fields.
- You can change your username, password or your contact details once you are in this screen. When you have completed updating your details, click the commit button to save your changes.
- You can also request access to additional food export commodities via this screen.

The information I am looking for is not in MICoR, where is it?
- Only importing country requirements that are known to be current or have been verified as correct at the time of publishing are available in MICoR. If importing country requirements of a particular country or commodity that you require are not contained in MICoR, exporters should seek further information by contacting their relevant commodity contact at DAFF.
How can I search for specific country requirements?
- You can enter keywords or the importing country into the search field in the coloured banner on the top of the page or click the ‘Advanced search’ link on the top right hand corner of your commodity home page
How can I receive updates on content?
- To receive updates of MICoR content relating to your commodity select ‘Subscribe to RSS’ on the top right hand corner of your commodity home page. This will provide you with updates as changes occur.
- These updates are in the form of what is called an RSS feed, which is a format for delivering changing web content and is viewed similarly to a favourites page in a web browser. The MICoR updates will reflect the most recent changes to content for the entire commodity.
Can I print content to PDF?
- Yes, when you have found the required content select the ‘PDF’ button and it will convert the information into PDF format.
What has happened to the Phyto database?
- The Phyto database has been decommissioned and is no longer accessible to exporters or DAFF staff.
I have printed copies of Phyto cases that I am familiar with. Can I just use that?
- A review of the Phyto database content has taken place and ICRs deemed to be current and correct are now available in MICoR. Some of the information is identical, but a lot has changed.
- If a country/commodity has been moved from Phyto to MICoR, users should check the information in MICoR, particularly if they are very familiar with the information in Phyto, because the information may have changed.
- Exporters are encouraged to familiarise themselves with MICoR at their earliest convenience.
How do I access Protocols?
- You will need to register with plant exports to gain access to the Protocols section of MICoR. To apply for access go to the documents section on the Plants home page in MICoR, select ‘view documents’, once you are in the documents page the registration form can be accessed under the Protocols heading.
