General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

​Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Megathyrsus maximus is a synonym of Panicum maximum.

No evidence is required to endorse freedom from Sugarcane gumming disease (Xanthomonas axonopodis pv vasculorum) as it is not known to occur in Australia.

Following pests does not require supporting evidence to be certified as it is not known to occur on the seed export pathway:

  • Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV),
  • Leaf scald of sugercane (Xanthomonas albilineans),
  • Bacterial wilt of dahlia (Erwinia chrysanthemi).

Phytosanitary sampling and inspection procedures may be used to endorsing freedom Solenopsis invicta (Red imported fire ant).
