General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

​Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

 standard for vapour heat treatment (VHT) of fruit fly host commodities.

The shipping marks must be entered into the RFP as:

  • PACKHOUSE NO: XXXX

Sea container seal number must be entered in the Phytosanitary certificate under item 12 (Distinguishing marks and the container Nos.).​

Treatment

All mangoes destined for export to China are subject to mandatory VHT.

The innermost fruit pulp temperature (degrees celsius) - Exposure period consecutive minutes is:

  • 47 degrees celsius or above - 15 minutes;
OR
  • 46 degrees celsius or above - 20 minutes
The whole treatment process including heating, maintaining the pulp at the treatment temperature, and cooling shall last no less than 2 hours.

 A Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry
authorised officer must be present to supervise the loading and unloading of the treatment chamber/s.

90% humidity must be maintained or exceeded within the treatment chamber for one hour prior to and throughout treatment period.

The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Option 1 (EXDOC Endorsement 3394)
1) The mangoes in this consignment have been produced in Australia in accordance with the conditions governing entry of fresh mango fruit to China and inspected and found to be free of quarantine pests,
2) The product in this consignment has been subjected to orchard control for Orange fruit borer (Isotenes miserana), Mango seed weevil (Sternochetus mangiferae), and Bacterial black spot (Xanthomonas campestris pv. mangiferaeindica) in accordance with the conditions governing entry of fresh mango fruit to China.
