General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.

Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 3375:
  • A laboratory analysis certificate is required to endorse freedom from Powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis), Bunted wheat nematode (Anguina tritici), Spike blight of wheat (Corynebacterium tritici) and Blotch of wheat (Septoria tritici). 
Endorsement 7628:
  • Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa), Red rust (Ug99 Race 2) (Puccinia graminis tritici) and Leaf blight (Alternaria triticina) are not known to occur in Australia. No evidence is required to endorse freedom from these pests.
  • Visual inspection by the Authorised Officer is sufficient for endorsing freedom from Granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius), Sawtooth grain beetle (Oryzaephilus surinamensis), and Canary grass (Phalaris minor)​.
  • ​A crop inspection report or an area freedom certificate is required for endorsing freedom from Mite (Tyrophagus putrescentiae), Barley stripe mosaic virus, Wheat bunt (Tilletia spp), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Bunted wheat nematode (Anguina tritici), Spike blight of wheat (Corynebacterium tritici), Blotch of wheat (Septoria tritici) and Molya disease (Heterodera avenae).​
  • The exporter must provide a laboratory analysis certificate attesting to freedom from quarantine weed seeds and present to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. Bangladesh's list of quarantine weed seeds can be found on p.144-145 of the Plant Quaran​tine Rules 2018.
  • In Addition, visual inspection by the Authorised Officer must be undertaken as per instructional material for endorsing freedom from the following quarantine weed seeds.​​

1) A representative sample was found free through laboratory testing of Powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis), Bunted wheat nematode (Anguina tritici), Spike blight of wheat (Corynebacterium tritici) and Blotch of wheat (Septoria tritici).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 7628)
1) Karnal bunt (Tilletia indica), Dwarf bunt (Tilletia controversa), Red rust (Ug99 Race 2) (Puccinia graminis tritici) and Leaf blight (Alternaria triticina) are not known to occur in Australia,
2) Using official testing and inspection procedures, the consignment was found free from Granary weevil (Sitophilus granarius), Sawtooth grain beetle (Oryzaephilus surinamensis), Canary grass (Phalaris minor) and quarantine weed seeds,
3) The seed has been sourced from pest free areas free from Mite (Tyrophagus putrescentiae), Barley stripe mosaic virus, Wheat bunt (Tilletia spp), Ergot (Claviceps purpurea), Bunted wheat nematode (Anguina tritici), Spike blight of wheat (Corynebacterium tritici), Blotch of wheat (Septoria tritici) and Molya disease (Heterodera avenae).​
