General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

​Original and certified translation of the import permit must be presented to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.​Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.Explanation of the endorsements

Endorsement 1386:

  • Freedom from Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variable) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica) may be endorsed based on visual inspection by an Authorised Officer.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as supporting evidence to endorse freedom from Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii) and White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi).
  • A crop inspection report must be provided as supporting evidence to endorse freedom from Witchweed (Striga curviflora, Striga parviflora, Striga multiflora and Striga squamigera).

Endorsement 1393:

Australian consignments of Setaria spp seed may be endorsed free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica) without any supporting evidence presented except for seed sourced from the Mackay area. Endorsement 5709 cannot be applied to seed sourced from the Mackay area.

Endorsement 5711:

  • Freedom from Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variable) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica) may be endorsed based on visual inspection by an Authorised Officer.
  • A laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as supporting evidence to endorse freedom from Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii).
  • Red witchweed (Striga asiatica) is recognised as not occurring in any Australian states and territories except the Mackay area of Queensland. Australian consignments of Setaria spp seed may be endorsed free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica) without any supporting evidence presented except for seed sourced from the Mackay area. Endorsement 5711 cannot be applied to seed sourced from the Mackay area.

For Endorsements 1386 and 5711, the statement "OFFICIAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER (NUMBER) / DATE (DATE)" may be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP) if required. There is to be no deviation from this text format.To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant program via (EXDOCPlantPrograms@awe.gov.au).


For seeds grown and/or inspected in an area in Queensland other than the Mackay Region, if required the place of production details may be entered in the "Additional product description field" section of the EXDOC Request for Permit (RFP) as: THE SEED WAS GROWN IN <PLACE OF PRODUCTION>, <STATE>. There is to be no deviation from this text format. To enable the field on the RFP the exporter must submit a request to the EXDOC Plant Program via  (EXDOCPlantPrograms@agriculture.gov.au).

3) The crop was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free of Witchweed (Striga curviflora, Striga parviflora, Striga multiflora and Striga squamigera).

Option 2 (EXDOC Endorsement 1393)
1) The consignment is free of Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variabile) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica),
2) The crop was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free of Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense), Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii), White tip nematode (Aphelenchoides besseyi) and Witchweed (Striga curviflora, Striga parviflora, Striga multiflora and Striga squamigera).

 

Option 3 (EXDOC Endorsement 5709)

1) The consignment is free of Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variabile) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica),
2) The crop was officially inspected during the growing period and found to be free of Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii),
3) The consignment has been sourced from an area recognised by SENASA as free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica).

Option 4 (EXDOC Endorsement 5711)
1) The consignment is free of Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variabile) and Rice moth (Corcyra cephalonica),
2) The consignment was found to be free by official laboratory testing of Mouse-ear hawkweed (Hieracium pilosella), Perennial thistle (Cirsium arvense) and Wild turnip (Brassica tournefortii),
3) The consignment has been sourced from an area recognised by SENASA as free from Red witchweed (Striga asiatica).
