There are no general requirements for Taiwan.

Certification requirements for organic meat, meat products and processed meat products

From 1 September 2017 Taiwan’s Council of Agriculture (COA) has required organic certifying bodies provide additional attestations for organic meat, meat products and processed meat products exported to Taiwan. Processed meat products include products such as chicken broth, beef broth and sausage.

The attestations are to be provided on a certificate or document issued by the organic certifying body; this certificate or document is separate to the Department's Organic Goods Certificate (OGC). The certificate or document must accompany the OGC.

The OGC number must be provided on the accompanying certificate or document to allow COA officials to cross-reference the OGC and the organic certificate or document.

Certifying bodies must keep a copy of the accompanying certificate or document for their records.

The attestation to be provided on the accompanying certificate or document is as follows:

Australian origin organic agricultural products and organic processed products were produced or processed in accordance with the National Standard for Organic and Bio‐Dynamic Produce. Australian origin organic livestock for meat products exported to Taiwan were managed without the use of chemically synthesised allopathic veterinary medical products.

Exclusions

Bee (apiculture) products are excluded.

• MAA 2014-05 – offal and bone are excluded
  
• MAA 2020-01 – for the following exclusions:
• agricultural products that are produced in the organic conversion period or processed products that use agricultural products produced during organic conversion period as raw material or an ingredient
• imported agricultural product for further processing in Australia or repackaging, and exported to Taiwan
  
• MAA 2020-06 – for the Australia–Taiwan organic equivalence arrangement – additional information.
  

Prohibitions

Under the Agreement, there is zero tolerance for residues.

As noted above:

• agricultural products that are produced in the organic conversion period or processed products that use agricultural products produced during organic conversion period as raw material or an ingredient
  

are not included in the scope of the equivalence arrangement between Australia and Taiwan.
