Importing country requirements
It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the
Department’s website.
A Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Import Certificate/ VQC from the
Republic of the Philippines' Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Animal Industry is required and is the equivalent of an import permit.

Health certification
The health requirements given in this entry are a guide only, based on conditions commonly found on the Philippines' import permits.
As importing country health requirements may change without advice to the Department you should check the import permit and/or the country’s website carefully at the time of preparation for export.
Health certificate
I, Dr ………………………………, a duly authorised government veterinary officer, hereby certify that:
- Australia is free from Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD), Rinderpest and Contagious Bovine Pleuropneumonia.
- During the six (6) months prior to semen collection, no clinical cases of Q Fever, Enzootic Bovine Leucosis (EBL), Infectious Bovine Rhinotracheitis (IBR), Anthrax, Leptospirosis, Babesiosis, Trichomoniasis and Bluetongue have been diagnosed in the farm of origin of the donor males.
- The herd of origin of the donor bulls originates from accredited farm/farms classified tested negative, monitored negative or confirmed free of the status for Brucellosis and Tuberculosis.
- That the donor bulls originate from premises of origin which has been free of Johne's disease for the last five years.
- The donor bulls come from farms with no diagnosed cases of Campylobacteriosis in the preceding three years prior to export.
- The donor bulls were clinically healthy on the day of collection.
- The donor bulls were negative to the following tests within thirty (30) days prior to or after the collection of semen:
- Johne's Disease – Complement Fixation test (CF) test at 1:8 dilution / ELISA test
- EBL – Agar Gel Immunodiffusion Test (AGID) / ELISA test
- Bluetongue – AGID / ELISA Test
Prior to export, the container in which the semen is to be transported, was sealed using an Official Seal bearing the marks:

guide only, based on conditions commonly found on the Philippines' import permits.
Exporters preparing consignments of semen for export to the Philippines
must comply with the requirements on the import permit for that consignment.
