Importing country requirements
It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements.
Contact the National Agricultural Health Service in Peru for information about the process required to import animals into Peru from Australia.

- Where an importing country issues an import permit, the exporter must ensure the animal meets any requirements in the permit.
Health requirements
The following information was sourced from the importing country website in September 2021. As importing country health requirements may change without advice to the Department you should check the import permit and/or the country’s website carefully at the time of preparation for export.
For the entry of pets the owner or guardian of the pet (dogs and cats) must present the following documents:
- - Request to the Senasa office with your data and the pet respectively
- - An original health certificate issued by the Official Authority of the country of origin is required that includes
- Current vaccinations - cats must be vaccinated against Feline panleukopenia and Rabies.
- Deworming – (internal and external parasites) carried out within 15 days prior to departure.
- Health status of the pet – the pet must be inspected by an Official Veterinarian stating that the animal does not present fresh wounds or in the process of healing, nor the presence of ectoparasites, nor signs of infectious diseases.
- Note
- The Health Certificate does not require a consular visa.
