It is the exporter's responsibility to ensure that the animal meets the importing country requirements. Additional information to assist exporters with how to prepare reproductive material for export is available on the Department’s website.

Note that the requirements to import live animals into the Malaysian states of Sabah and ​ Sarawak are subject to locally imposed requirements. You should consult the separate Micor entries for Sabah and Sarawak.

An import licence is required and will be issued by the Veterinary Office of the State into which the s​emen is being imported.

I, Dr ………………………………, a duly authorised government veterinary officer, hereby certify that:

1. The semen in this consignment was derived from an artificial insemination centre which is under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon and is licensed by the Department of Agriculture.
2. The semen in the consignment is derived from a bull or bulls which had been kept in the artificial insemination centre for at least (6) months immediately prior to the date of collection.
3. The donor bulls were tested and found free from:
   
   
   1. Tuberculosis
   2. Brucellosis
   3. Vibriosis (Campylobacter)
   4. Trichomoniasis
   5. Leptospirosis​
      


4. The veterinary surgeon in charge of the semen collection centre certifies that the donor bulls fertility has been proven good.
5. Prior to export, the container in which the semen is to be transported, was sealed using an Official Seal bearing the marks: XXXXXX

The semen must be derived from an artificial insemination centre which is under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon and is licensed by the Australian Government.

The donor bulls must have been kept in the artificial insemination centre for at least six months immediately prior to the date of collection.

A declaration by the centre veterinarian is required for this export.

Pre-export preparations

The donor bulls must be tested and found free from-​

• Tuberculosis
• Brucellosis
• Vibriosis
• Trichomoniasis
• Leptospirosis

The bulls must have had their fertility proved to be good.

Port of entry requirements

The consignment must be accompanied by a certificate issued by a Government veterinary authority stating that the semen is derived from an artificial insemination centre which is under the supervision of a veterinary surgeon and is licensed by the Australian Government.

A declaration by the veterinary surgeon in charge of the artificial insemination centre certifying that the semen in the consignment is derived from bull/​s which have been kept in the artificial insemination centre for at least six (6) months immediately prior to the date of collection; and that the donor bull/s have been tested and found free from Tuberculosis, Brucellosis, Vibriosis, Trichomoniasis and Leptospirosis, and their fertility proved to be good.

On arrival the semen must be produced for inspection and examination by the veterinary officer of the importing State.
