Documentation

A declaration by the Artificial Insemination Centre (AIC) veterinarian is required for this export.

This template (DOCX 50 KB | PDF 495 KB​) provides the format for the Centre Veterinarian Declaration (CVD) for the export of goat semen to the People’s Republic of China.

Protocol

1. The Department can commence the quarantine and inspection procedure on animals from which genetic material will be exported to China after receiving the relevant import permit from the Chinese authority.
2. The Chinese will send veterinarians to the semen collection centres of origin and related laboratories to cooperate with the Australian veterinarians in carrying out inspections and quarantine requirements.
3. The semen collection centre must be registered by the Department of Primary Industries and Energy - Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service and be certified as being arbovirus vector free.
4. The bucks donating the semen must have been born and raised in Australia.​
