General requirements
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
A copy of the import permit must be presented to an Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Treatment
Treatment
- Seed must be treated (dusted to excess) with a fungicide and / or insecticide.
AND
- Product must undergo fumigation after loading with methyl bromide at NAP, 48grm/m3 for 2.5 hours at 21 degrees celsius.
OR
- Fumigated with Phosphine at 5grm/m3 for seven (7) days at temperatures above 25 degrees celsius or ten (10) days at temperatures between 15 - 25 degrees celsius.
The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
