Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.Exporters must confirm with the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock & Food Supply (MARA) if an import permit is required for the consignment.
If an import permit is required, an original and official translation of the import permit must be present to the Authorised Officer at the time of making appointment.
A phytosanitary certification is still required if an import permit is not issued.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection. Note:- Freedom from Broomrape (Orobanche spp), Witchweed (Striga spp) and Bacterial leaf blight (Xanthomonas oryzae pv. Oryzae) must be endorsed on the phytosanitary certificate.
Explanation of the endorsementsEndorsement 5599:The laboratory analysis certificate number must be entered in the 'Lot Number' section of the EXDOC Request for Permit as: LABORATORY ANALYSIS NUMBER <NUMBER>.
