The following export pathways are permitted:
1. Product sourced from a fruit fly pest free area (PFA);
OR
2. Product sourced from outside a fruit fly PFA undergoing onshore cold treatment, followed by refrigeration during transit;
OR
3. Product sourced from outside a fruit fly PFA undergoing in-transit cold treatment.
Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.
Fruit is to be free of leaves and peduncles.
The Import permit number must be quoted in the phytosanitary certificate.
Prior to export the consignment must be inspected and declared free from injurious pests and diseases or has been treated and found free from injurious insect pests and diseases.
Explanation of fruit fly pest free areas (PFAs)
The following areas are recognised as pest free areas for Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tryoni) and Mediterranean fruit fly (Ceratitis capitata):ANDExporters sourcing fruit from the Riverland must present a State government certificate at the time of inspection which states all fruit was sourced from properties outside the suspension areas.
The above pest free areas are also recognised as free from Northern Territory fruit fly (Bactrocera aquilonis), Jarvis fruit fly (Bactrocera jarvisi), and Lesser Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera neohumeralis).
All consignments using solid wood packing material must comply with ISPM-15.
All packing materials such as hay, straw, chaff etc. are to be sterilised and free from soil particles. Evidence of sterilisation is to be presented to the authorised officer at time of inspection.
Where applicable, the exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the endorsement and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Explanation of endorsements
Endorsement 1678:
Fruit sourced from Tasmania or the Riverland of South Australia which are recognised as free from fruit flies. Exporter to provide evidence that the fruit was sourced from either Tasmania or the Riverland.
Fruits are subject to in-transit cold refrigeration.
Endorsement 5940:
Fruit has undergone cold treatment. The exporter is to provide evidence attesting to the treatment and present it to the Authorised Officer at the time of inspection.
Fruits are subject to in-transit cold refrigeration.
Endorsement 6789:
Fruit will be subject to in-transit cold treatment.
