General Requirements

Consignments are to be free from pests, soil, weed seeds and extraneous material.

Listed additional declarations are for consignments that will be re-exported from the United Arab Emirates. For consignments of chickpeas to the UAE that will not be re-exported to another country from the UAE, no additional declarations are required.​​

Requests by exporters for additional endorsements of chickpeas being exported to the UAE may be complied with where it is known that the consignment shall be re-exported to another destination through a re-export phytosanitary certificate.

Exporters who require endorsements for re-export purposes are to provide written evidence of the additional endorsements which the department needs to certify on the phytosanitary certificate. Requests are to be emailed to MicorPlants@aff.gov.au for action.​
 
Explanation of Endorsement 6526:
  • Visual inspection of a representative sample by an Authorised Officer may be used as evidence to endorse freedom from Cacoa bean weevil (Aracerus fasciculatus).
  • An area freedom certificate, crop inspection report or laboratory analysis certificate must be provided as evidence to endorse freedom from Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi) and Halo blight on bean pods (Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. phaseolicola).​

1) Broad bean mottle virus is not known to occur in Australia,
2) Using official procedures, the consignment was found free of Cacoa bean weevil (Aracerus fasciculatus), Bacterial blight of pea (Pseudomonas syringae pv. pisi) and Halo blight on bean pods (Pseudomonas savastanoi pv. phaseolicola).
